Spring Into Action

After every harvest season we schedule out some time to take a deep breath and reflect on the past season. This past year almost felt like that moment never came. Early winter and into early spring were just as busy as the warmer months. We shipped our crop and its derivatives all over the country, and quickly got to work preparing for this upcoming season. By the start of the new year our seed propagation was underway, and we kept busy preparing our facilities for the new season.

Those colder months are deceiving; even after five years we make plans to rest. We have every intention to turn in for a minute and catch our breath. But instead, we start dreaming again. Bigger than ever before, and the opportunity to rest passes us by. I guess that is what happens when you love your work. Calling it work just does not sound right in our case.

When our hands are not in the dirt, we are in the community representing our industry and educating consumers. As I have mentioned before, education is a big part of our motivation. It is our privilege to be the trusted source for all things hemp, and that is an honor we do not take lightly. We actively keep up with the ever-changing regulations, scientific advancements, and potential held within the hemp plant. We remain connected to many trade organizations, and we were happy to get back to face-to-face trade shows like the NoCo Hemp Expo (Denver, CO). Wacey was honored to speak on a panel at the Farm Symposium, and our booth showcased our farming operation and product lines. We left energized and ready to hit the ground running at the farm.

By the end of March, we were chomping at the bit to officially spring back into action. March 30 marked the first seeds planted, and those first starts are already up potted and growing quickly. It will not be long, and we will be in the fields. We are ready to paint this place green again! The Grand Valley sure knows how to show off in the Spring. If you happen to make it by our Farm Headquarters on US Hwy 50, be sure to stop by and say hi and see what we’re up to!
