Currently, the CHS farm team is diligently tending to this year’s crop. Planting was completed in early July and now the weed control and plant inspection tasks consume all available labor. Testing will begin this week to track the cannabinoid development in these plants, and we are excited to see them grow and develop. As crazy as it sounds, we are already making preparations for harvest as it will be here before we know it!
CHS was very happy to be a sponsor and to host the hemp dinner at this past week’s Hemp on the Slope, brought to you by our great friends Morris and Lizzy with Colorado Hemp Company and the NOCO Hemp Expo, along with Margaret and Aaron with Salt Creek Hemp. As always, it was a great day with fellow hempsters in an awesome and positive setting. Tanner Willis, Co-founder of CHS, was a speaker in three seminars and shared his deep knowledge with the next generation of hemp pioneers.
While Tanner, Melody, and the crew held down the Hemp on the Slope event, my wife and I were supporting our local agricultural community as buyers in the Mesa County 4-H and FFA Junior Livestock Sale. We were fortunate enough to purchase the Grand Champion Lamb, a number of goats, rabbits, hogs, and even a chicken or two. It was our pleasure and privilege to support such an amazing set of young people – the future of Agriculture in this area! Great job kids; we pledge to support you in Agriculture as much as and whenever we can!
